Dowse Venues offer a range of spaces to suit any corporate and social events. From the sophistication and flexibility of The Dowse Art Museum to the charm and capacity of Lower Hutt's Town Hall (currently closed for earthquake restrengthening), Little Theatre, and Horticultural Hall, just over the road. Dowse Venues are located just a 15 minute drive from downtown Wellington.
The Dowse Art Museum is made up of multi-purpose event spaces placed around an enclosed outdoor courtyard. The spaces can be configured in a multitude of ways to cater for anything from a staff workshop for 20, a formal lecture for 80, or a 120-seat dining/reception area. A winner of numerous design and architecture awards, The Dowse is perfectly suited to a variety of corporate, community and social events, including weddings, conferences, receptions, fairs, seminars, birthdays, workshops and launches – anything requiring an injection of creative flair!
The Dowse has a fantastic on-site café, with catering available on request.
Our friendly Visitor Services team is happy to discuss any special requirements you may need. We are liquor-licensed and AV equipment is available, including free WiFi.
All venues have pay and display parking for easy accessibility, and a regular bus service from downtown Wellington stops nearby. There is disabled access to all public spaces.
