Late Lounge art + musicLATE LOUNGE

We're bringing the late night Thursday buzz back to Lower Hutt with a monthly Late Lounge. On 30 July, Hannah Howes + Claire Terry provide the sweet sounds. Come early for Cafe Scientifique or a quick bite guided tour - all galleries + cafe + bar + new shopette open till 9pm. A midwinter feast for your eyes, ears and tastebuds : )

Artist Gina Matchitt jets back from New York to present an illustrated lecture on her recent work in the US and France, as well as her pieces in the Plastic Maori exhibition. Questions and feedback from the visitors is encouraged. She's also got a new show at the Mary Newton Gallery.

Craft 2.0 Winter Warmup Craft 2.0 Winter WarmUp | FREE

Venture out from under your blankies for Craft 2.0. Organiser (and Good Morning Friday craft expert) Sue Tyler promises the return of old faves including Babylicious and Scrappers, new stalls from Christchurch and 2 make-and-do areas using wool and wallpaper. Get in early to nab 1 of 100 gift bags packed full of treats from supporters and stallholders.

Join Hutt City Libraries storytellers inside the Flying Solo exhibition for he wiki o korero tairitenga (a week of storytelling). Stories are in English, but you'll learn a little Te Reo along the way! This year's theme is 'Te Reo i te Hapori - Maori language in the community'.
