Jessie Casson: Michael Robinson, Cromwell, Cherry Stone Spitting Champion
Photographer Jessie Casson spent the summer of 2007-08 travelling from Auckland to Bluff and back again, in a caravan with her husband Matt and son Dylan. Casson was on a mission to photograph and interview local heroes for a book project.
From an award-winning Rose Grower to a Rodeo Cowboy and a 'Universe'-straddling drag queen, individuals from all over New Zealand are brought together in a loving tribute to the unsung Kiwi achiever. Although rarely publicised outside their home towns, each winner is testament to the passion and determination of the people of Aotearoa.
