Come and join us for this year’s NZ Student Craft and Design Award presentations. For over 20 years, this annual award scheme for tertiary students has supported and encouraged innovation, creativity and excellence in contemporary craft and design. Celebrate with the winners and view the finalists’ entries that will be displayed in the gallery on the night.
Listen to guest speaker Tommy Honey, director of the New Zealand Film School and well-known architecture critic and writer. Tommy has a background in education and creative management and has taught in the tertiary sector for many years. He has also worked extensively in the theatre as a director and designer.
His topic will be the Death of No. 8 Wire – design as sophistication, as opposed to the banality of No. 8 wire.
Meet at The Dowse where drinks & nibbles will be served from 6pm. All members and their guests welcome.
Please book by emailing dowsefriends@gmail.com.
