The Underground Market at The Dowse

The second Sunday of every month: 9 June, 14 July 2013, 11am–3pm

The weekly Underground Market on Wellington’s waterfront has expanded to bring a “best of the best” art and craft market to The Dowse on the second Sunday of every month.

Normandale resident and market owner Helena Tobin says the initiative is in response to both stallholders and shoppers asking for more contemporary craft events outside of the Wellington CBD, and not on a Saturday.

Many of our shoppers are parents who have Saturday commitments, and Sunday is the only day they have free for these events. Also many of our stallholders are Hutt based artists, so it makes sense to bring that local talent together in a local event," she says. “We’re taking the best of our weekly market to our fans to The Dowse”.

Shoppers will discover a laid-back, Sunday brunch atmosphere with 50 stalls by emerging and established local artisans. All galleries, shop and cafe will be open so it's also a great opportunity to discover what's on at The Dowse.
